Peace on Earth?

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

~Luke 2:8-14

Okay, so it's not Christmas.

Big Deal.

I'm writing this devotion because it's relevant to all times of the year, not just Christmas.

So without further ado, onto the devo.

Often, when we look around at the world, we think that it's pretty much hopeless. The national deficit, the War on Terrorism, Homelessness, and other things scream at us to panic, worry, and stress.

But we must remember that God is still alive! (Shocking, I know.) He is still on the throne! He is still God! No matter how we feel. Speaking of feelings, they can be pretty deceptive. Have you ever "felt" that someone was mad at you? You probably acted strangely around them, walked on eggshells and felt out of place around them. then, you find out that they weren't mad at you at all!

So take God's advice. He is good. All the time. And all the time, God is good.

Be blessed,
