The Greatest Adventure

*gasps for air*

AHH! Whew! It's been a while since this devotional has seen any action, hasn't it? Well, a global pandemic can do that to you, I guess... anyway, today I want to share some thoughts and things I have learned through this whole mess, how does that sound?

The biggest thing I have learned through this whole pandemic is that life - even for the Christian - is not easy! In fact, it's funny that we even think that it should be easier for us as Christians because, as Christ said: "In this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the world!"

This life was never promised to us as an easy one, but that doesn't mean we can't enjoy the awesome moments along the way. Even those that are caused by the craziness! FOr example, I was working at a produce stand called Top of the Hill when the thick smoke started pouring into the Fort Collins, Windsor (CO) area. We could barely see the sun it was so thick! However, instead of getting angry at the smoke (because that would do a ton of good) or getting mad at God for letting the smoke come (again, a ton of good that would do us...), we got excited! This is so cool! Get out the camera, this doesn't happen every day! Even in the madness, we praised God.

And this is how we should be treating our lives every day, in every circumstance. This Christian life, as Steven Curtis Chapman put it in his song The Great Adventure, "is the greatest journey the human heart will ever see, the love of God will take us far beyond our wildest dreams!" This life, through all of the struggles, is meant to be enjoyed!

So get out there today, knowing that God has blessed you, and remember, you are NEVER alone.

Cheering you on,

~Malaki S.
