Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, oh God and renew spirit within me.”
In the Psalm, David is asking God to cleaning and wash him from his sin. In this specific verse, he asks God to: “Create a clean heart” in the Psalmist's soul. Don't you, as well as the Psalmist, want just that brand spankin' new heart that God gives? Buy you know, the only way to do that is to just get wrapped up in Jesus.
The only way to get wrapped up properly is to have a true saving knowledge and faith in God's Son. This is key, because if we don't have those two things, our faith is not complete. So, my end to my rambling is this: Are we asking God to create in us a clean heart? Or to renew a steadfast spirit within us? Are we keeping him as our center and head? Are we asking him to restore to us the joy of our salvation as it says in verse twelve? Are we asking Him this? We should be. Let's not just read this and take it for granted, but really ask God for these things in our life.
In Psalm 34:4, the Psalmist says, “I sought the LORD, and He answered me and delivered me from all of my fears.” He answered me. If we take that seriously, we will not doubt that God will answer our request of a new heart. Let's take God seriously , and ask, as the Psalmist did, for a clean heart.
